The pub nestles between the Oxford Canal and the Great Western Railway.

The Great Western Arms is located alongside the Oxford Canal and is a perfect starting point for canal side walks. We are also located next to an old Great Western Railway train station and steam trains can be regularly seen from the bridge outside the pub. The pub itself is full of Great Western Railway memorabilia. Photos past and present of both the railway and the canal adorn the walls.

There is a good array of tourist attractions close by to suit all, whether it’s the noise and speed of Silverstone racetrack, the grandeur of Blenheim Palace, local carp fishing, the shopping at Bicester Village, golf courses within easy reach, gliding in Bicester or simply the charming countryside of the Cotswolds.

We are located a mere 10 minute drive off Junction 11 of the M40, and just a 25-minute drive from Oxford. Perfect for a sunny day to take the Red Bus Tour.
